The main inspiration and focus of this instrument is the unique piece of spalted maple. I had been sitting on it for many years, and decided a semi-hollow baritone would be the right home.
I chose zebrawood and maple for the 5pc neck because it ties the neck and body together thematically and aesthetically, but does not detract from the spalted maple which is front and center.
The Hipshot Babygrand bridge seemed like a great classy addition to the instrument. The "cupcake" style cream knobs along with the excellent Bareknuckle Mississippi Queen P90s also in cream just bring it all together.
The neck is oiled for a super smooth playablity, and I choose a lacquer type finish on the body and top for the natural yellowish color and the way it slowly settles into the topography of the spalted top, lending some physical depth to the fascinating patterns.
